A choline-containing phospholipid and the most bioavailable form of choline available. Upon ingestion, Alpha-GPC is rapidly absorbed and crosses the blood-brain barrier, directly increasing choline concentrations in the brain. Choline is the essential precursor to acetylcholine — the neurotransmitter central to memory formation, attention, and learning. Unlike dietary choline sources (organ meats, dairy), Alpha-GPC delivers choline at a dose and bioavailability sufficient to meaningfully increase acetylcholine synthesis in target brain regions.
- ACETYLCHOLINE PRODUCTION & COGNITIVE SIGNALLINGDirectly increases choline availability in the brain, enabling neurons to synthesise more acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is released in the hippocampus during memory formation, in the prefrontal cortex during focused attention, and at neuromuscular junctions during physical contraction. Increased acetylcholine availability strengthens signal transmission across all three systems — improving learning efficiency, sustained attention, and mental clarity simultaneously.
- NEUROMUSCULAR TRANSMISSION & PHYSICAL OUTPUTIncreased acetylcholine availability improves communication between motor neurons and muscle fibres at the neuromuscular junction — contributing to force production, power output, and muscular coordination. Research has demonstrated significant improvements in lower body power output in trained athletes supplementing with Alpha-GPC, validating the neuromuscular mechanism alongside cognitive benefits.
- MOTIVATION & COGNITIVE DRIVEClinical research has demonstrated that Alpha-GPC supplementation significantly increases motivation scores in healthy volunteers, independent of cognitive task performance. The mechanism is linked to acetylcholine's role in reinforcing goal-directed behaviour and attentional engagement — making it relevant not only to memory and focus but to the drive required to sustain high cognitive output.

A choline-containing compound and highly bioavailable choline source that operates through a distinct mechanism from Alpha-GPC. Upon ingestion, CDP-Choline is broken down into choline and cytidine — cytidine is then converted to uridine in the brain. While choline supports acetylcholine production (as with Alpha-GPC), uridine serves a structurally critical role: it supports the production of phospholipids — the primary structural components of neuron cell membranes. Stronger membranes allow more efficient signal transmission; uridine also directly supports synapse formation, making CDP-Choline both a signalling supporter and a structural brain architect. The combination of Alpha-GPC and CDP-Choline in Synapt delivers choline from two complementary pathways.
- ACETYLCHOLINE PRODUCTION VIA CHOLINEProvides choline as a precursor to acetylcholine synthesis, complementing and additive to Alpha-GPC's choline delivery. The dual-source approach ensures choline availability is maintained across both acute and sustained supplementation periods, supporting consistent neurotransmitter levels in memory and attention systems.
- PHOSPHOLIPID SYNTHESIS & MEMBRANE INTEGRITYUridine (derived from cytidine) supports synthesis of phosphatidylcholine and other phospholipids that make up neuron cell membranes. Brain cells communicate by transmitting electrical and chemical signals through the cell membrane — structural integrity directly determines signal efficiency. CDP-Choline supports the maintenance and repair of these membranes, allowing faster, more reliable neural signal transmission.
- SYNAPSE FORMATION & NEUROPLASTICITYUridine supports the formation of new synaptic connections between neurons — the structural basis of learning and long-term memory. Synaptic plasticity (the strengthening of connections through repeated use) is the molecular mechanism of learning. By supporting synapse formation and maintenance, CDP-Choline directly enhances the brain's capacity for new information encoding and retention.

- Maintains neuron membrane integrity for efficient signal transmission
- Supports synapse formation and neuroplasticity

A plant extract derived from the leaves of the ginkgo tree — one of the oldest living tree species on Earth, with a documented history in traditional Chinese medicine spanning thousands of years. The active compounds fall into two classes with distinct but complementary mechanisms: flavonoids (antioxidant and neuroprotective) and terpenoids (vascular and neurostructural). Together, they support brain function by improving the physical delivery of oxygen to neurons, protecting those neurons from damage, and maintaining the structural conditions required for efficient signalling between brain cells.
- FLAVONOIDS — ANTIOXIDANT & NEUROPROTECTIONFlavonoids act as potent antioxidants, neutralising free radicals generated during the brain's high-energy metabolic activity. The brain consumes approximately 20% of the body's oxygen — a process that continuously produces reactive oxygen species as by-products. Uncontrolled free radical accumulation damages neuron membranes, proteins, and DNA. Ginkgo flavonoids donate electrons to stabilise free radicals, reduce their production, and support the brain's endogenous antioxidant defences — protecting neurons and maintaining their function over time.
- TERPENOIDS — CEREBRAL BLOOD FLOW & NEURAL STABILITYGinkgolides (terpenoids) reduce platelet aggregation and improve cerebral blood flow, ensuring consistent delivery of oxygen and glucose to neurons. Bilobalide (the other primary terpenoid) stabilises neuron cell membranes and maintains the ionic conditions required for reliable signal transmission. Together: more oxygen delivered to neurons, and neurons structurally optimised to use it — supporting memory, attention, and sustained cognitive performance.
- LONG-TERM COGNITIVE HEALTHThe combined antioxidant and vascular mechanisms position Ginkgo Biloba as relevant to both acute cognitive performance and long-term brain health. Meta-analyses of controlled trials in populations with mild cognitive impairment and mild dementia report significant improvements in memory, attention, and overall cognitive function — with effects observed across both healthy and cognitively declining populations.

A highly valued medicinal mushroom used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine and other East Asian herbal practices. Contains two primary classes of bioactive compounds — polysaccharides (beta-glucans) and triterpenes (ganoderic acids) — each operating through distinct mechanisms relevant to cognitive performance. Reishi does not stimulate the brain directly; instead, it optimises the biological environment in which the brain operates — reducing neuroinflammation, regulating the stress response, and maintaining the neurotransmitter balance required for consistent cognitive output.
- POLYSACCHARIDES — NEUROPROTECTION & IMMUNE REGULATIONBeta-glucan polysaccharides regulate immune activity and reduce neuroinflammation — the persistent, low-grade brain inflammation driven by chronic stress, oxidative stress, and ageing. When neuroinflammation is poorly controlled, immune cells remain in a continuously activated state, releasing inflammatory signals that disrupt neuron function and impair cognitive signalling. Polysaccharides restore a more balanced immune environment, reducing this inflammatory burden and creating conditions where neurons can function efficiently — supporting neuroprotection and long-term brain health.
- TRITERPENES — STRESS REGULATION & NEURAL STABILITYGanoderic acids regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and modulate cortisol activity. In modern high-demand environments, chronic stress keeps cortisol elevated — impairing hippocampal function (memory), disrupting prefrontal cortex activity (decision-making), and dysregulating dopamine, serotonin, and GABA balance. Triterpenes help prevent the nervous system from remaining in a prolonged overactivated state, allowing brain regions and neurotransmitter systems to return to a more stable baseline. The result is clearer thinking, improved mental steadiness, and greater sustained cognitive performance.
- ADAPTOGENIC COGNITIVE SUPPORTThe combined polysaccharide and triterpene profile gives Reishi adaptogenic properties — meaning its effects are most pronounced under stress conditions. This is the cognitive performance context most relevant to high-output performers: the ability to maintain mental clarity, focus, and emotional stability when under sustained cognitive or psychological demand.
- Protects brain cells via neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects
- Supports stress resilience and nervous system balance
- Helps maintain emotional stability and reduce mental fatigue
- Supports focus, clarity, and cognitive performance under demand
- Promotes long-term brain health and function

The primary bioactive compound in fresh ginger root — a phenolic compound with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. 6-Gingerol is the most studied and biologically active form. Upon ingestion, gingerol exerts its effects through four distinct cognitive mechanisms: preserving acetylcholine availability, supporting nerve growth factor (NGF) via the ERK/CREB pathway, reducing neuronal oxidative stress, and protecting against the beta-amyloid accumulation associated with long-term cognitive decline. It is the only ingredient in Synapt that targets all four major axes of cognitive performance simultaneously.
- ACETYLCHOLINESTERASE INHIBITIONGingerol inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE) — the enzyme that breaks down acetylcholine after synaptic transmission. By slowing this breakdown, acetylcholine remains active at the synapse for longer, strengthening signal transmission in memory and attention circuits. This mechanism is distinct from Alpha-GPC and CDP-Choline (which increase acetylcholine production) — gingerol preserves what is already produced, extending its cognitive effect.
- NGF SUPPORT VIA ERK/CREB PATHWAYGingerol supports nerve growth factor (NGF) production and activates the ERK/CREB intracellular signalling pathway — a cascade that controls gene expression for neuron growth, synapse formation, and synaptic strengthening. CREB activation promotes the formation of new synaptic connections and reinforces existing ones, directly supporting the brain's structural capacity for learning and memory. Research has confirmed this mechanism in the hippocampus — the primary brain region for memory encoding.
- ANTIOXIDANT NEUROPROTECTIONActs as a potent neuronal antioxidant, neutralising the reactive oxygen species generated during the brain's high-energy metabolism. This protects neuron membranes, proteins, and DNA from free radical damage, preserving signal transmission efficiency and neuronal structural integrity over time.
- ANTI-AMYLOID & LONG-TERM BRAIN HEALTHGingerol's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions help counteract the cellular stress conditions that promote beta-amyloid accumulation — reducing production via modulation of amyloid-processing enzymes and inhibiting aggregation of existing peptides. This positions gingerol as relevant not only to acute cognitive performance but to the long-term preservation of the neural architecture on which performance depends.
- Preserves acetylcholine at the synapse via AChE inhibition
- Supports new neuron growth and synapse formation via NGF/ERK/CREB
- Protects neurons from oxidative stress and inflammation

A naturally occurring compound derived from the amino acid glutamate, found in the brain and certain foods. Operates at the intersection of two critical cognitive systems: the glutamatergic system (responsible for fast excitatory signalling and synaptic plasticity) and the cholinergic system (acetylcholine, memory, attention). Unlike glutamate itself, L-pyroglutamate works indirectly — supporting and regulating neurotransmission rather than directly activating neurons. This makes it a precise and calibrated cognitive enhancer with neuroprotective properties rather than a non-selective excitatory compound.
- GLUTAMATERGIC SIGNALLING & SYNAPTIC PLASTICITYL-pyroglutamate supports the glutamate-glutamine cycle, maintaining the availability of glutamate for synaptic transmission at AMPA and NMDA receptors — the molecular basis of long-term potentiation (LTP). LTP is the primary mechanism of learning and memory: repeated activation of synaptic connections strengthens them over time. L-pyroglutamate supports this process while helping prevent glutamate excitotoxicity — the excessive NMDA receptor activation that causes oxidative damage and neuronal injury. The result is enhanced memory encoding without the cellular costs of unchecked glutamate activity.
- CHOLINERGIC SUPPORTL-pyroglutamate enhances acetylcholine release and improves receptor responsiveness in the hippocampus and cortex, strengthening and prolonging the signal transmission responsible for attention, learning efficiency, and information processing speed. This mechanism complements Alpha-GPC and CDP-Choline's choline-supply approach by improving the downstream responsiveness of cholinergic signalling systems.
- Enhances learning, memory formation, and information retention
- Improves focus, cognitive clarity, and processing speed
- Supports acetylcholine release and cholinergic receptor sensitivity
- Reduces mental fatigue under sustained cognitive demand
- Operates at the intersection of glutamatergic and cholinergic systems

An adaptogenic herb used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine, rich in eugenol, rosmarinic acid, and flavonoids. Holy Basil operates primarily by protecting cognitive performance under stress — the most common performance-limiting condition for high-output individuals. Chronic stress impairs hippocampal function, disrupts neurotransmitter balance, and reduces synaptic plasticity. Holy Basil addresses each of these pathways: it regulates cortisol through the HPA axis, maintains GABA/glutamate balance for stable neural activity, and provides antioxidant protection to preserve the structural integrity of synapses.
- HPA AXIS MODULATION & CORTISOL REGULATIONModulates the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, reducing overactivation and preventing sustained cortisol elevation. Chronic cortisol impairs memory by disrupting hippocampal function, reduces focus by impairing the prefrontal cortex, and dysregulates key neurotransmitters. By maintaining more stable cortisol levels, Holy Basil protects synaptic plasticity and preserves the neurotransmitter balance required for efficient learning and memory under stress conditions.
- GABA/GLUTAMATE BALANCE & NEURAL STABILITYSupports the balance between glutamate (primary excitatory neurotransmitter) and GABA (primary inhibitory neurotransmitter). Excess glutamate leads to neuronal overstimulation and reduced signal accuracy; insufficient GABA reduces alertness and slows information processing. Holy Basil promotes inhibitory signalling and regulates glutamate activity — keeping neurons firing at appropriate levels. The result is improved signal clarity, better focus, and more accurate cognitive processing.
- ANTIOXIDANT NEUROPROTECTIONRosmarinic acid and flavonoids act as potent antioxidants, neutralising the free radicals generated during the brain's high metabolic activity. This preserves neuron and synapse structure, ensuring that signal transmission remains efficient and stable under sustained demand — supporting memory, focus, and cognitive performance over time.
- Enhances memory, learning, and information retention
- Improves focus, attention, and cognitive clarity
- Protects synaptic plasticity under stress conditions
- Reduces mental fatigue and stress-driven cognitive decline
- Supports long-term brain health and neuroprotection

A herb with over 3,000 years of documented use in Ayurvedic medicine for memory, learning, and cognitive function. Classified as both a nootropic and an adaptogen — it enhances the brain's ability to process and store information while also improving resilience to cognitive stress. Primary active compounds — bacosides — work through multiple simultaneous mechanisms: supporting synaptic connections at the structural level, regulating acetylcholine and other neurotransmitters, providing antioxidant neuroprotection, and increasing BDNF expression for long-term neuronal health. Among the most clinically validated botanical nootropics, with multiple RCTs confirming improvements in verbal memory, working memory, and information processing speed.
- SYNAPTIC PLASTICITY ENHANCEMENTBacosides support the growth and repair of synaptic connections — the physical structures through which neurons communicate. Learning and memory depend on the strengthening of these connections through repeated activation (long-term potentiation). By supporting synapse formation and maintenance, bacopa directly enhances the brain's structural capacity for new information encoding, storage, and retrieval — improving both short-term working memory and long-term retention.
- ACETYLCHOLINE REGULATION & COGNITIVE SIGNALLINGBacopa increases acetylcholine activity and slows its breakdown, extending signal duration at hippocampal synapses — the primary site of memory processing. This cholinergic effect complements Alpha-GPC and CDP-Choline's production approach and gingerol's AChE inhibition, providing a third distinct mechanism for maintaining acetylcholine availability. Bacopa also influences serotonin and dopamine, supporting mood, focus, and motivation — the cognitive states that underpin learning performance.
- BDNF SUPPORT & ADAPTOGENIC STRESS RESILIENCEAssociated with increased levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) — a protein essential for the growth, repair, and survival of neurons, and a key driver of synaptic plasticity. Also modulates HPA axis activity, maintaining more stable cortisol levels and protecting cognitive function from stress-induced degradation. The combined BDNF and adaptogenic effects support both acute learning performance and long-term neural health.
- ANTIOXIDANT NEUROPROTECTIONBacosides are potent antioxidants — protecting neurons and synapses from free radical damage generated during metabolic activity. Preserved neuronal structure maintains signal transmission efficiency and extends the functional lifespan of the neural architecture responsible for memory and cognitive performance.
